Sharmila was first introduced to Ashtanga yoga by Shri K. Pattabhi Jois and R. Sharath Jois when she visited Mysore in 1997. She is one of few worldwide to be Certified by KPJAYI to teach the Ashtanga yoga system and is the co author of Yoga Sadhana for Mothers. Believing in the importance of Seva as part of spiritual practice, Sharmila has also taught yoga therapy workshops.  This Fall, Sharmila opened her shala in Goa, India.  Sharmila continues to make regular pilgrimages to study in Mysore cherishing her time to be a student and to go deeper into the ocean that is yoga. She most enjoys sharing the practice in the way it was imparted to her over the years within a healing transformative environment.

Workshop includes four Mysore style classes held mornings May 10-13.  Email us to find out if there is any availability. All sessions include Sangha, optional nature walk and Women’s conference.  Please sign up early to avoid disappointment.

Thursday:  
2:00 PM Welcome / Nature Walk.  All attendees invited. Meet at entrance to The Museum of Anthropology at UBC.  Address: 6393 NW Marine Dr, Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z2.  We will walk down to the beach and meet Sharmila.  If weather is not agreeable (pouring rain), check the website around 1PM for alternative information.
Thursday5:30-6:45 PM – FREE EVENT for women.  Female Ashtanga practitioners invited.
Friday:  5:30-7 PM Sangha
Saturday:  3-4:30 PM Sangha

NATURE WALK:
If is is pouring rain, please check the website by 1PM on Thursday.

REGISTRATION COST:
For out of country participants, please register using the Pay Pal Link.
For Canadian participants, please email us with your session preference. For Canadian residents, we prefer cheque transactions or INTERAC e-transfer to reduce unnecessary costs.  Registration may be made by cheque (made out to Ashtanga Yoga Vancouver) or cash (in person) or e-transfer.

Workshop Cost:  $360 plus 5% GST = $378

ALL SESSIONS ARE CURRENTLY FULL.  PLEASE EMAIL US TO BE PUT ON A WAITLIST.

NOTE: No refunds or cancellations on or after April 1, 2018. . Please do not request a refund after this date.

All workshop registrations contain a $50 non-refundable booking fees. Please bear that in mind before booking. Absolutely no exceptions.

Parking:
There is 2 hour street parking on 10th and 11th.  There is also two hour parking on Cypress right by the school between 10th and 11th.  There is a parking garage under Bed Bath and Beyond.  You can enter on Burrard Street.  There is street meter parking (check time restrictions in the morning) on Broadway.

What to Bring:

  • Waiver:  Please fill out and sign.
  • Yoga Mat
  • Cotton / towel for yoga mat (the studio gets warm so please bring a cotton or microfibre mat to cover your rubber mat)
  • Small Towel
